Citrosuco, in partnership with Reservas Votorantim and ECCON, is launching the Payment for Environmental Services (PSA Carbon Agro Perene) methodology, which ensures the value of environmental services provided by native vegetation on perennial crop farms, as well as good agricultural management practices that contribute to mitigating climate change.

Methodology
The PSA Carbon Agro Perene program focuses on valuing and compensating for Environmental Services, measured through a matrix that assesses productive and forest areas, using the following indicators: carbon stock and removal, forest conservation and connectivity, biodiversity (fauna and flora), socio-environmental impacts, water and soil resource management, and pesticide and fertilizer management.

Results
The application of PSA Carbon Agro will allow the measurement and verification of a series of indicators that will underpin the generation of tradable carbon credits (C+). The expectation is that the initiative will strengthen sustainable agricultural practices and promote forest conservation, with the main challenge being the consolidation of the methodology in the national and international market, so that large-scale implementation is possible.
