Strategic partnership for conservation, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurship in the Amazon. Since 1965 in the Amazon, we have promoted financial inclusion in all municipalities. In partnership with FAS for 17 years, we have invested R$ 129 million in conservation and development. The Tumbira community, located in the heart of the Amazon, within the Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve (RDS), is an example of conservation, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurship in the Amazon.

R$ 129 million invested in conservation and development.

Methodology

The initiative was implemented considering conservation, financial education, and entrepreneurship actions. The site has become a benchmark in how good management and the execution of sustainable projects can promote socioeconomic development while preserving the standing forest.

Conservation, financial education, and entrepreneurship integrated.

Results

The implemented actions boosted the socioeconomic growth of the community, directly benefiting more than 43 families and 20 local entrepreneurs. One of the milestones was the installation of Bradesco Expresso, which eliminated the need for long commutes to access banking services and social benefits. The service point operates at Pousada do Garrido, an inspiring example of sustainable entrepreneurship, also supported by Bradesco's Oriented Productive Microcredit program. The combination of microcredit, banking access, and the partnership with FAS strengthened the local economy. The owner of the inn, previously involved in predatory activities such as deforestation, became a tourism entrepreneur. This is just one of many stories that demonstrate how well-structured partnerships can work.

43 families and 20 entrepreneurs benefited.
