In the state of Roraima, where the conversion of up to 50% of land into rural properties is legally permitted, ZEG has structured a forest conservation project at Fazenda Vale Verde, where it also develops the Brazil nut supply chain, combining standing forest, extractive dignity, and bioeconomy to generate fair and sustainable income.

Methodology

The structuring of the supply chain will occur through the development of a collectors' association with fair governance (carried out with the support of GSS) and the infrastructure for collection, accommodation, and transshipment in the forest (responsibility of ZEG). Partnerships with EMBRAPA and MAHTA enable logistical and technical innovations, including ergonomic tools, traceability systems, and optimized collection with the support of geotechnologies.

Results

By the start of the 2026 harvest, a collectors' association will be formed, and harvesting infrastructure and training will be implemented. From 2027 onwards, the processing stages for Brazil nuts will begin. The project will generate up to 10 direct jobs and mobilize approximately 50 collectors, aiming for remuneration above the historical average, higher quality, traceability, and dignity in extractive work, while also seeking production certifications such as Fairtrade and Organic.

Compensation 20% superior, traceability and Fairtrade and Organic certifications.
