Biomes: forest restoration
Through a dual investor and enabler approach, Biomas was created to address the challenge of financing restoration in an emerging sector. By combining traditional financial instruments with an impact-oriented vision, we aim to plant 2 billion native trees and restore 4 million hectares, with the goal of reducing approximately 900 million tons of CO2 equivalent.

Methodology
Biomas' methodology is structured around four pillars. The first consists of developing a business case, with leadership support, monitoring progress, performance, challenges, and the search for solutions. The second is the creation of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the restoration sector. The third pillar involves a risk framework for low-carbon sustainable innovation, aimed at emerging businesses with scaling potential. Finally, the fourth pillar is its own rating methodology, which evaluates restoration and carbon projects focusing on financial viability and socio-environmental integrity.

Results
Biomas, in partnership with Veracel Celulose, launched the Muçununga project with R$ 55 million to restore 1,200 hectares and plant 2 million seedlings of 70 native species, with the expectation of generating 500,000 carbon credits over 40 years. It also facilitated the first operation of the Climate Fund (R$ 100 million, interest of 1% per annum), supporting the expansion of Mombak and the local economy.
