Petrobras' strategy prioritizes supplying products with lower greenhouse gas emissions, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability. We seek cost-effective solutions for decarbonization, expanding the energy supply. In this journey, we have already implemented several initiatives to diversify our product portfolio, meeting society's demands for a just energy transition.

Cost-effective solutions for decarbonization and a just energy transition.

Methodology

Considering the uncertainties faced by the energy sector, we work on building visions of the future through the development and monitoring of scenarios. Our scenarios explore new possibilities and dynamics in the energy sector, which manifest themselves through perspectives on geopolitical arrangements and aspects, changes in consumer habits, new technologies, and government policies. Based on all these variables, we seek to map the critical uncertainty for the future of the energy sector: the pace of the energy transition.

Anticipating the future: strategic scenarios for the energy transition.

Results

Petrobras' energy production will grow in a cleaner way, guaranteeing its relevance in the national energy matrix and its role in society. Thus, we are launching innovative products to meet the demand for more sustainable alternatives. We launched Diesel R (R5), a renewable fuel that does not require engine modifications, facilitating the transition for consumers. We already produce and market it at the REPAR and RPBC refineries, and in 2024 we will reach 100,000 m³ in sales and approximately 10,000 tons of CO2e avoided. Other refineries, such as REPLAN, REDUC, and REGAP, are also ready to produce it, optimizing the use of our infrastructure for a cost-effective transition.
