To promote a sustainable supply chain, JBS has developed a solutions hub for rural producers. Through the Traceability Accelerator and Green Offices 2.0 programs, JBS provides services such as environmental compliance initiatives, technical assistance to increase productivity, and animal traceability.

Animal traceability for greater transparency and sustainability.

Methodology

In Pará, the second state with the largest cattle and buffalo herd in the country, JBS combines individual animal tracking with technical and environmental assistance, connecting producers to the sustainable supply chain. The Accelerator program provides 2 million electronic ear tags and 175 ear tag readers to Adepará (the Pará State Agricultural Defense Agency) and producers, in partnership with TNC (The Nature Conservancy) and the state government. The Green Offices 2.0 offer environmental regularization and technical-managerial support to promote increased productivity and profitability for small producers.

Results

The Accelerator has helped to make viable the unprecedented traceability plan in Pará, which foresees that the individual identification of cattle in Pará will have its implementation phases completed by December 2027. In addition to the donation of 2 million JBS ear tags to the state of Pará, the Green Offices have supported the regularization of more than 18,000 properties in Brazil and 7,005 hectares are already in the process of forest restoration. Technical assistance, in turn, currently supports more than 900 family farmers in intensifying their production, seeking to increase profitability.
