Supplier Decarbonization Program
The supplier decarbonization program, launched in 2024, is part of Engie Brasil Energia's (EBE) "For the Climate" journey. It aims to engage suppliers in defining reduction targets, ensuring the net zero 2045 commitment undertaken by the Engie group. Currently, more than 70% of EBE's emissions come from the 52 invited suppliers.
Net zero expanded: suppliers as agents of the energy transition
Methodology
ENGIE Brasil Energia's supplier decarbonization program is structured in five macro-stages. The first stage consists of defining strategic suppliers, which together represent more than 90% of the supply chain's emissions. Next, interviews are conducted to diagnose climate change maturity. The third stage involves signing an adhesion agreement, guaranteeing access to benefits such as a platform for preparing a GHG inventory, training, energy efficiency diagnostics, and discounts on I-RECs (Integrated Recycling Credits). The fourth stage includes collecting the emissions inventory and aligning on reduction targets and decarbonization actions. Finally, the program promotes continuous monitoring of KPIs, ensuring the constant evolution of the supply chain towards net zero.

Results
Among the main results of ENGIE Brasil Energia's supplier decarbonization program in 2024, the participation of more than 501 TP3T of strategic suppliers stands out, representing approximately 601 TP3T of EBE's supply chain emissions. It is estimated that, during this period, the program contributed to a reduction of approximately 4,000 tCO₂e. The initiative also received recognition in important awards, such as "Guardians for the Climate" at COP29 and the 31st edition of the Expressão de Ecologia Award, in the Environmental Management category. In addition, four training sessions were held focusing on strategic themes, including GHG inventory, climate risks and opportunities, carbon market, and sustainable taxonomy, strengthening the climate maturity of the supply chain.
