LEATHER TRACEABILITY

Banner do projeto
Logo da Parceira

Launched in 2022, its goal is to guarantee that the leather used in Azzas 2154 footwear, bags, and accessories is deforestation-free. The target for 2030 is to have 100% traceability in all products, all the way back to the breeding farms. We use blockchain technology, which encrypted data such as invoices, production orders, origin, destination, measurements, and weight.

Encrypted blockchain technology ensures security and transparency in the production chain.

Methodology

The project consists of the following stages: formalizing contracts with suppliers; auditing invoices; implementing QR codes for customer transparency; developing an integrated digital platform with AI for automated reporting (in conjunction with a partner); adapting to internal systems; automatic calculation of ESG targets; governance meetings and indicator monitoring; communication and engagement with the supply chain; expansion planning for other raw materials; and data modeling for carbon emissions accounting.

Digital platform with AI for automating ESG reports and data.

Results

In 2024, 38.6% of leather production from all brands of BU Calçados e Acessórios was tracked from the factory to the slaughterhouse, signaling the commitment of the Arezzo brand and other brands of the Azzas2154 group to combating illegal deforestation. The goal for 2026 is to have 100% tracked from national and international slaughterhouses. By 2028, the project aims to reach 100% from fattening farms and, by 2030, 100% from breeding and/or rearing farms. This purpose is reinforced through the Deforestation Free commitment, where we are the only Brazilian signatory in the fashion sector.
