WHAT ARE NDCS?

Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are voluntary commitments made by countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, with the aim of combating global warming and limiting temperature increases to 1.5°C, in accordance with the Paris Agreement. Defined periodically, NDCs are essential for each country to define clear goals and concrete actions in the transition to a low-carbon economy. At COP29, the updating and submission of new NDCs is one of the central agendas, with expectations that these commitments will guide global climate planning until 2035.
